other ways to help the world.
My goal in my career of choice is to work greener cause i dont know about the rest of you but i want my daughter to have a brighter future and if we keep doing what we are doing then what will our childern have? And it affects jobs too..
Did you know that if everybody around the world stop doing what they are doing (watching tv, eating, washing dishes etc.) for 2 years the world would go back to its normal form.
I want to live long enough to enjoy my career and have everything i want in life. We are killing ourselfs with the waste and the chemicals that are going on.
In the law offices and the Law Socity of B.C or Canada, people are doing different things.
If we knew what was in products, hardly anybody would sue and that would save a ton of paper and gas for the running around. Or in contracts, instead of redoing them all the time because someone didnt take the time to read it and waste paper. How about this for a change...READ THE CONTRACT...that way lawyers and paralegals can save time and paper and everything else.
COME ON PEOPLE...TOGETHER WE CAN STOP GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!

I was on the skytrain this morning and there are alot of signs on how saving and working green can help..but i have also notice that people just don't care.
Listen, anyone who claims to care about global warming, why dont we do anything about it? We humans are the cause of global warming. Factories, paper, half of our stuff is harmful. We should start using enviornment friendly things. Reusable bags, cardboard that doesnt have any chemicals. Bring a lunch in a tupperware container that you can use over and over again instead of buying lunch and throwing out a plastic bag.

How a paralegal can work greener.
In my field of work that Im studing for there are alot of ways I or any paralegal can make a difference in the legal world.
1. Instead of printing everything on paper, use emails or just print what is needed so we dont waste trees. Saving paper help save trees which in the long run will make a huge difference.
2. Turn the power off on the monitor when not in use. Now this is a big one due to the fact that being a paralegal means you are always on the go, whether its running to the courthouse to registry a claim for your client or gathering information for your case, either way we should make a point of turning our monitor off before we leave the office.
3. Driving less.. Now here is another biggie. As we are running all over the city, we should plan our trips and times better so we can use less gas. Taking the bus or walking is a good way to start.

What are the global sustainability issues?
There are alot of global sustainability issues. For one the way we package thinks like toys and materials. In an office environment there are alot of wasted paper from paper cup to printing more then we need. There are 2 different kinds of sustainability issues- The specific and the General. Now as my teacher as explained to my class and from what i have gathered the general issues is the most importent ones. Once we have figured out how to solve those problems the specifics will be a easier tasks.
Its like going to the root of the problem. Just think, if we can slow global warming now our kids will have a birghter future.
